Likkun's Dream C Club (笑) Meme (嘘)
So I was having a conversation with the usual chuckle bunch and it was just one of those times where you're just casually talking with people. Somehow we got on a simple conversation for once and everybody was shocked to hear about some of the normal things about me, like favorite food for example.
I think it was determined from that point that maybe when people learn stuff about me it's not the normal things. I guess I never bother to talk about things like this because they're silly or pointless but anytime it comes up there's some huge fuss over it. Perhaps I'm not human enough to people yet or something.
So either way, we decided that we would have the most simple conversation possible. I called it a cross gender Dream Club but everybody shunned me since I'm obviously the only one playing it in that circle. To me it seemed better in this sense since I really hate just filling in forms with interests since it seems so unnatural. But there's something about answering questions like this up front that the answers are all really natural that and you have an actual conversation concerning them such as, the why as it were.
If some of these questions seem odd it could be because we got asking weird questions or I just translated things awkwardly. Oh and we were going to just do a simple "What do you like?" sort of thing but it seemed boring after awhile so we started stealing questions from other places. Answers are long because, like I said, this was a conversation or almost interview rather then simple minded one word dribble. And if you want to answer some of these questions yourself then be my guest, technically these are all taken from baton pass sort of things anyway.
Q. What's the origin of your online nickname?
I never get this asked often enough because everybody calls me something different. But actually before anything else, but actually some people are aware of my old AIM handle ShadowLink. I had that name for a pretty long time but after awhile I started shortening it to Link for the sake of keeping things simple. Once I started using that, my older sister shortened it to Likkun for some reason. After I put that as my handle in a lot of places, friends started shortening it to Lik and on 2ch the characters would obviously lead people to do the same. I think once I read the characters at 2ch, I started listing my name as Leek as it were. A little after that is when I started my whole English tutoring thing and the Sensei got thrown in at the end. Plus my all around nature let it get attached even by people who weren't actual students just because they thought it was fitting. But I still hear Likkun, Leek, and sometimes Link from different circles of friends to be honest.
Q. What's your favorite color?
Navy blue or some derivation of a midnight blue. But otherwise in general I'm rather fond of a lot of bright colors. As far as a single favorite color goes though it's that, probably because of the night sky and all that.
Q. What's your favorite genre of music?
I've learned to appreciate about everything. Jazz is probably my favorite though. To me it always gives sound a certain type of class and style that nothing else can match. When someone puts together a great jazz piece and you manage to stack the right type of singer to compliment it, it sends chills down your spine. Plus it always reminds me of those cool bar scenes with a jazz band playing in the back.
Q. What type of natural scenery do you enjoy?
Scenery, huh. I think at some point I really liked the beach scene a lot. But after taking a trip up to Yosemite (despite the trauma) I really feel in love with waterfalls. I remember one we looked at was just a picture perfect shot and felt incredibly majestic. Of course the scale on that was huge which is why I enjoyed it so much. If not that, then just really calm, small flowing rivers to contrast.
Q. What location do you enjoy visiting the most?
A lake where I can fish! I really hate being in bustled places and I'm incredibly relaxed when I'm out somewhere quiet fishing. I remember the more recent times when I started going with my Dad I would just lay on my back and almost fall asleep. I think that's the most relaxed I ever felt in my life.
Q. What's your favorite saying/proverb/etc.?
"Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value." So yeah it's Albert Einstein and I'm studying Physics...shut up.
Q. What's your favorite drink?
It always makes me sound like a little kid, but apple juice. Even better when it comes in a juice box. I'll drink a lot of types of juice but nothing quite stacks up as great to me.
Q. What's your favorite vegetable?
Potatoes. Potatoes. Potatoes.
If I had the time to do so, I'd have some variation with every meal. I don't even know where my love for them stems from anymore but nothing beats them....ever.
Q. What's your favorite fruit?
Hmm....lychee. I remember when we traveled to New York, my mom bought me a ton of fresh lychee fruit when she saw it. Once we got back to the hotel that night, I sat down and pretty much ate all of them in one go. Granted I haven't gotten them fresh since, it's hard to forget. But if you make me something I can get more readily, it'd be pineapple.
Q. What you you dislike eating?
For the most part, fish I would say. I am a Pisces after all which is no excuse but unless it's prepared in certain ways I have certain grievances about eating it. If not then I'm the same about mushrooms, I certainly just can't eat them like other people do.
Q. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Any type of coffee ice cream. Don't put anything in it, just make it a solid flavor. Particularly, the Jamoca they have at Baskin Robbins is supreme to me. In general I tend to like solid flavors though, like Mint ice cream without the chocolate chips thrown in.
Q. What's your favorite type of candy?
Caramel. Toffee. Either is good. I'll eat a whole bag if you give it to me and don't manage to take it away in time.
Q. What's your favorite time of the day?
Early night, just when you can start seeing the stars. I remember in my room my desk faced out the window and you could see the moon perfectly from it. It was my favorite time to be working on something there.
Q. What's your favorite day of the week?
During school, Saturdays. It's when I hang out with friends for extended periods of time. During summer, Mondays. I love starting a week fresh by getting up and trying to set a good tone.
Q. What's your favorite season?
Fall. The weather cools down perfectly and everything feels really relaxed at that point. Plus there's always that occasional rain that kind of slows down the world a bit and feels really soothing. Hanami.
Q. What's your favorite holiday?
It's a tough choice I think but I'd probably pick Christmas. Mostly because I really think that time of the year is pretty appealing, that and it gives me an excuse to spend large amounts of money on other people without them complaining. I know a lot of people have their complaints about it but you'll find me in my best mood most likely around that time.
Q. What's your favorite movie?
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It's another childish flag sort of thing, huh? That the case or not, I can nearly act out the entire movie if you let me. Gene Wilder is probably how I picture Willy Wonka now on whenever I read the book and I'll probably go into hiding for awhile when he dies. *knock knock*
Q. What's you favorite anime opening?
It has to be Catch You Catch Me. Aside from being the anime closest to me, I still admit that CCS has one of the best openings, if not the best ever. I think of everything I listen to nothing stacks up.
Q. What type of person do you dislike?
Someone who deliberately strives to be better then other people. I really don't care that you went that much farther then me, actually I don't mind when people are better then me. I mean if they're modest and just kind of don't brag profusely about their triumphs then I respect them. But when someone just needs to go on about how they somehow are one up on you in some trivial way it bothers me.
Q. What type of girl do you like?
Oh, I know. Everybody after this is going to say, "Yep, he really is a lolicon!" sort of thing. Whatever. I'm going to be honest though and admit that it would have to be a girl who's really innocent and needs to be protected. Girls like that really really get to me. If not then just someone who knows how to counteract me as a person. You know like a straight man (well woman) sort of thing. It's kind of lame when a guy just knocks you in line but when a girl does it to me and kind of puts me in my place it's a lot more fun. And that's totally not a ドM flag either. Oh, and definitely a girl that enjoys/can/doesn't mind singing. They don't have to be amazing but I think it's something I tend to look for.
Q. What do you want most in the world?
A little sister~
Every since junior high - high school hit I wanted one. I think at that point I started entering where I am now where I really wanted to look out and protect someone close. I think having a little sister running around yelling, "Big brother, big brother" and the like would make me really happy. Oh well.
Q. What's your motivation for working hard? (Job, School, etc.)
I guess I realized this a lot in High School when I was thinking about what career path to take. But around that time I started thinking a lot about my parents and that in the future I wanted to be able to support them to the best of my abilities. So I guess I have that aspiration to work hard for the sake of being able to take care of them to a further extent in the future. Giving them a nice relaxing life once I'm nice and secure would be a dream come true for me I think.
Q. If you could arrange one thing in the world what would it be? (hard time phrasing this question, but I think it will make sense when you read my answer)
I like this one. If I could, I'd probably have all the friends I've ever made gathered in once place. Either a simple picnic or Hanami for sure. Actually I think Hanami would be the best, right? Now I'm just fantasizing about something like that happening.
Wow that was long, I'm seriously just going to link my Bio to this thing everywhere now.
I guess this really is a blog after all. Huh.
